Hellgate London Review - Someone Needs to Say It

There was a lot of hype surrounding this game, and plenty of people were eager to play it. The unfortunate thing is that the game, while good, simply doesn’t measure up to the hype.

This online game review will not say that the game was bad, because it wasn’t really that bad. The game was just somewhat ordinary. When a game is built up to be something big and exciting, you start anticipating an off-the-wall fantastic game, or at least something unique.

But there was nothing about this game that was new, incredible, or breathtaking. It was fun, I’ll give it that, and there were some exciting parts to it. It’s a decent game that could have been a GREAT game if the rest of it was a lot more like those parts.

If you have been reading other Hellgate London reviews that say this game is best thing since sliced bread, they were probably paid to say all that. It’s rather like smiling and complimenting your girlfriend or boyfriend instead of telling them that their new hairdo really looks bad, because you’d rather not hurt their feelings.

And on top of all that, the stats kept confusing me to no end. How in the world do you keep track of a dizzying number of weapons, each with its own different damage-inflicting ability? Well, despite that problem, it’s nifty to be able to use a wide variety of attacks.

Another point in the game’s favor that should be noted in this Hellgate London review is that you can now break down items and free up inventory space. That helps make room for all that gold you want to get! Which is about as cool as it gets. Remember, if Hellgate London doesn’t do it for you. There are plenty more games out there.
